PRESENTATION Recently, the State of Georgia passed a law (HB 1133) that gives donors a dollar for dollar income tax credit against their Georgia state income tax liability for donations to a qualified Student Scholarship Organization (SSO). The donations are a way you can help provide funds for as needed scholarships "financial aid" for Georgia Students coming from a public school. Listed Below Are The Steps Outlining How To Submit Your GOAL Donation: 1. Establish Your Credit Limit: - Individual single or head of household, $1,000 per tax year.
- Married filing separate $1,250 per tax year.
- Married couples filing jointly up to $2,500 per tax year.
- C Corp, 75% of Georgia Tax Liability per tax year
- S Corp, LLC, Partnership, Individual limits of owners per tax year.
2. How to Contribute Your GOAL Donation: - Fill out and sign Form IT-QEE-TP1 DOR & GOAL Scholarship Contribution Form (Listed Below)
- Married filing jointly include both spouses Tax Id’s ( SS#)
- Sign on page 2 of the TR1, include tax ID’s and contact #
- Write Check Payable to: Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program Inc.
- Note GABLES ACADEMY in Memo of check
- Return forms and check to New Day Gables Academy, Attn: Brandy Highsmith.
3. New Day Gables Academy Will: - Obtain approval from Georgia DOR on your behalf
- Your approved form and check will be mailed to Georgia GOAL.
- Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program will mail you a receipt Form IT QEE-SSO1 including tax filing guidelines
- Retain receipt for your tax records
- Electronic Filing is permissible for 2010
