At Gables Academy, students nine to eleven years old are appropriately grouped in a self-contained classroom. Reading specialists are a regular part of their classroom experience.

Teachers for elementary school are professional certified educators. Gables assists our youngest students in reaching developmental milestones by using a multi-sensory approach which is both challenging and non-threatening. Along with their academic activities, elementary students participate in regular physical education/recess activities, as well as art classes and creative dramatics games.

The self contained classroom plays a very important part in removing fears and insecurities developed by traumatic experiences in more harsh environments. By remaining in a familiar safe environment, our youngest students settle into a nurturing, consistent and happy family style classroom home.
